Great engagement factors in who you are talking to and what they care about, and draws on your communication strengths. This workshop helps you bring all of these elements together in a plan that works for your stakeholders, the project, and you.
You will think about: your audience and what they care about, your own communication strengths and blind spots, and what feedback you will need to inform your project. You will build a community engagement plan using AI to help you.
We’ll be using AI to brainstorm ideas and then to structure your plan, but you’ll be deciding what actions to take.
Participation will give you the opportunity to:
People in business, community organisations and councils who need their engagement processes to generate useful feedback, informing decisions that will stand up to scrutiny.
This workshop mixes short presentations, individual reflection, and discussion in pairs and as a group. You will work on your own project, or a relevant scenario if you would rather, and leave with a draft engagement plan.
I help organisations turn inconsistent, hard-to-track AI use into a shared way of working. Through training and a ready-to-use prompt library, your team develops a clear sense of where AI genuinely helps – and where to steer clear of it.
It’s essential to maintain ownership of your work, and one of the ways I do that is to interweave manual steps between each use of AI.
I also write strategies, policies and plans for councils and not-for-profit organisations across New Zealand. I’ve been doing this work since 2014 via Writing for Councils, and before that I worked at Nelson City Council in resource management and strategic planning roles.
