The stakes are high when elected members, funders or board members are using your report to make a decision. This workshop shows you how to write credible, trustworthy reports, and different ways that AI can help you improve the quality and readability of your work
The workshop walks through a full report writing process. You will gain clarity on what decision your report needs to focus on, who your ideal reader is, and how to build an outline to support your writing process.
You’ll explore options for using AI to help you and decide where it adds value and where you’re better off doing without it.
You will leave with a way of working that keeps your voice and your thinking at the centre of every report.
Participation will give you the opportunity to:
Team leaders, project leads and other report writers in business, community organisations and councils who need to provide advice, recommend changes or report on outcomes.
This is a hands-on workshop. You will work with a scenario that’s closely aligned to the reports you need to develop for your organisation or business. You will leave with a prompt library and a reliable process to follow whenever you need to write a report.
I help organisations turn inconsistent, hard-to-track AI use into a shared way of working. Through training and a ready-to-use prompt library, your team develops a clear sense of where AI genuinely helps – and where to steer clear of it.
It’s essential to maintain ownership of your work, and one of the ways I do that is to interweave manual steps between each use of AI.
I also write strategies, policies and plans for councils and not-for-profit organisations across New Zealand. I’ve been doing this work since 2014 via Writing for Councils, and before than I worked at Nelson City Council in resource management and strategic planning roles.
