Writing about technical issues

My particular skill is translating complex issues into accurate and easy to understand information. I am passionate about clear writing to support consultation and decision-making processes.

I trained as a journalist and worked at the Hamilton Press where I reported on environmental, education and arts topics. I also enjoyed writing the copy for the Waikato Times' Fieldays supplement over two successive years.

I then began working in the local government sector and my interest in this sector spans more than 20 years, as both an employee (primarily in environmental policy roles) and now by providing writing and editing services for councils.

I am also a big fan of lifelong learning. My qualifications include:

• BA (Hons) in English Literature (Waikato University)
• Diploma in Journalism (Auckland Institute of Technology)
• Diploma in Environmental Studies (Open Polytechnic of New Zealand).
• Graduate Diploma in Creative Writing (Whitireia New Zealand).

My home is in Nelson with Dean and our mini-schnauzer, Max. Dean and I have co-authored two novels.
