Writing about technical issues
I enjoy helping people to provide clear information on local government issues.
My particular skill is taking technical information and translating it into documents which are both accurate and easy to understand. I am passionate about clear writing to support consultation and decision-making processes.
I trained as a journalist and worked at the Hamilton Press where I reported on environmental, education and arts topics. I also enjoyed writing the copy for the Waikato Times' Fieldays supplement over two successive years.
I then began working in the local government sector and my interest in this sector spans more than 20 years, as both an employee (primarily in environmental policy roles) and now by providing writing and editing services for councils.
